My career in healthcare, social care and education recruitment has given me a strong understanding of staffing, safer recruitment legislation, compliance requirements and the real challenges faced by frontline services and the people who work within them. I’ve worked closely with children’s residential services, supported living providers, local authorities and specialist care organisations across Wales and England, giving me a clear view of what high-quality, ethical recruitment should look like.
Before moving into healthcare recruitment, I came from a business development background, where I learned the importance of strong relationships, communication and delivering a service people can genuinely rely on. When I took my first role as a healthcare recruitment consultant, I quickly built meaningful relationships with both candidates and clients, developing a deep understanding of the sector and how to support people properly. These early years shaped the way I lead today — with a focus on trust, consistency and doing the job right.
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in People Management & Learning and Development (including employment law) and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, alongside training in Safer Recruitment, Safeguarding, conflict management and professional interviewing. This knowledge helps me ensure that every part of our recruitment process is safe, ethical and aligned with best practice.
As a Director at Blue Heart Recruitment, I’m responsible for leading multiple teams, building high-performing services and ensuring the agency operates to the highest standards of quality, compliance and transparency. I’ve developed strong sector knowledge across healthcare, education and social care, and I work closely with my teams to embed robust processes, clear training pathways and a culture centred on accountability, support and continuous improvement.
Founding the Blue Heart Care Group allowed me to bring all of this experience together under one vision — to create services and recruitment solutions that truly put people first. My approach is simple: build strong relationships, lead with integrity, and deliver a service that clients, candidates and communities can trust.
